Nóra Csikós

Nóra is a licensed psychologist and a post-doc in cognitive science from Budapest, Hungary, and she is currently working on a project about affective, cognitive and hormonal changes in menopause, particularly how the natural changes in sex hormone levels influence the healthy cognitive aging process in the brain. People in middle age are generally underrepresented in psychological and neuroscientific research, and particularly methodologically sound studies about women in menopause are still lacking. This is why they hope this project can give some answers to long-awaiting questions in this topic, and help women make more informed decisions about their life during this stage.

Mapping the midlife brain: New insights into the psychological and neurocognitive changes in menopause

In her lecture she will first outline the current status of research on women in menopause, talking about some of the most notable studies and directions, and why we should generally be mindful about those results. Then she will present the gaps and yet-to-answered questions in this area, and their significance, and how their study means to addresss them, complemented by presenting some of their preliminary results.
