Where Psychology Meets Other Disciplines
Interdisciplinary collaboration is increasingly central to psychological work—but what exactly do psychologists bring to the table when working in diverse teams? This focused, interactive training explores the core strengths of psychology in interdisciplinary contexts and how these can be leveraged effectively across sectors and disciplines. In this session, participants will reflect on the distinctive contributions psychologists offer to interdisciplinary teams, such as understanding human behavior, group dynamics, decision-making, ethics, and evidence-based thinking. Through brief interactive inputs and targeted small-group exercises, participants will examine real interdisciplinary examples and identify how psychological expertise can enhance collaboration, bridge disciplinary perspectives, and support more effective outcomes. The session is facilitated by two psychologists with experience working in international and interdisciplinary settings, including EU institutions, corporate consultancy, psychological practice, and academic environments across Europe, including (but not only) Belgium and the Netherlands.
