From Rupture to Repair: Healing Attachment in Couples
When couples feel stuck in cycles of pain, the path to repair begins with healing the wounds we can’t always see. Attachment injuries often reappear in adult relationships as cycles of conflict, emotional distance, and mistrust. This session integrates Susan Johnson’s Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), John and Julie Gottman’s Sound Relationship House framework, and Diane Poole Heller’s attachment repair work into a cohesive, evidence-based approach for transforming insecure patterns into secure, resilient bonds. Participants will learn to identify and address attachment wounds, facilitate corrective emotional experiences, and apply Gottman-based interventions to strengthen trust, intimacy, and shared meaning. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to create lasting change and deeper connection in couples.
