Leslie Held
Leslie Held is a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University in the Department of Experimental Psychology, where she works with Wim Notebaert. She completed her Master’s degree in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience at the Behavioural Science and Donders Institute of Radboud University, Nijmegen, before earning her PhD at Ghent University under the supervision of Senne Braem.
The impact of physical exercise on cognitive processes
Her research broadly focuses on how people adapt cognitive control and reinforcement learning strategies to different contexts, using a range of cognitive paradigms and computational modelling. Right now, she is interested in how physical exercise and related physiological changes impact functions like conflict processing and decision-making, which will be the topic of her talk. She will also touch on the potential implications of this research for developing cognitive training protocols in athletes.
