Amanda Clinton

Amanda Clinton, M.Ed., Ph.D., is the Senior Director for the Office of International Affairs at APA. She is a licensed psychologist and credentialed school psychologist with experience in community clinics, pediatric hospitals, schools, academic settings, and public policy. Previously, she was Professor of Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, specializing in cultural adaptation, early childhood development, social-emotional growth, and bilingual neuropsychology.

Her scholarly work includes Climate Action and Global Psychology and Integrated Assessment of the Bilingual Child, and she is Co-Editor of the upcoming second edition of the Handbook of International Psychology. Dr. Clinton has completed an APA/AAAS Congressional Fellowship, contributed to the Mental Health Reform Act of 2016, and received several prestigious awards including a Fulbright Scholarship and APA Division 9 Educator/Mentor of the Year.

In this lecture, Amanda Clinton will showcase how the American Psychological Association (APA), the world’s largest scientific and professional organization for psychologists, applies psychological science to drive organizational change and international collaboration.

Amanda will discuss how international engagement has become a key pillar in research, training, and practice, highlighting the ways APA leadership promotes multilateral collaboration and adapts to evolving challenges in the field.
